Born in 1994 in Essen, Germany, Julien Rahmani grew up in the South of France within a multicultural environment enhanced by his Iranian and Algerian roots. These different cultures have inspired and questioned him over a modernized notion of identity.
He started photography self-taught while living in Saudi Arabia when the country opened-up in 2017.
Fascinated by the different communities that live together, he uses photography as a way to deeply explore his interest in traditional, emerging and alternative cultures.
With the support of the concerned people, he wishes to convey his sensitivity and his outlook through an accessible dimension, so that his work does not preach to the choir but rather reaches a larger audience to raise new questions.
